AECOM is seeking a Data Analytics / Power BI Developer with M365 expertise to join our team. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement in one of our Enterprise Capabilities Centers in South Africa.

As part of the Europe Data and Analytics team, you will report to the Data and Analytics Lead and contribute to developing Microsoft Power Platform solutions. Your primary focus will be building Canvas Power Apps and Power BI reports, collaborating with the Power Platform Lead to drive adoption and showcase innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a self-motivated Power BI Developer to work on diverse projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment while demonstrating initiative. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop Canvas Power Apps and Model-Driven Power Apps to meet business and client needs
  • Design and implement Dataverse databases within the Power Platform
  • Create Power BI data models with insightful visualizations
  • Support the team in advancing Power Platform capabilities
  • Solve business challenges using low-code/no-code solutions
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing Power Platform solutions
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to deliver integrated digital solutions
  • Gather and analyze requirements from stakeholders
  • Deliver solutions through regular engagement with internal and external users
  • Ensure high-quality development by working with UX Designers and Power Platform Leads
  • Provide estimates for project timelines
  • Develop Power Automate flows and Robotic Process Automations (RPA)
  • Build Power Virtual Agent chatbots and Power Portals
  • Incorporate feedback and test solutions against requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Microsoft accreditation
  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop
  • Familiarity with Power BI Service (publishing & sharing reports)
  • Basic knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
  • Experience connecting Power BI to various data sources (Excel, SQL Server, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Ability to create and customize visuals, charts, and slicers
  • Understanding of data modeling (relationships, calculated columns/measures)
  • Experience building interactive dashboards and reports
  • Knowledge of filters, slicers, and drill-through capabilities
  • Data transformation expertise using Power Query
  • Basic understanding of security/sharing (Row-Level Security is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills to interpret reporting needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Portfolio showcasing Power Platform/web development projects
  • Exposure to Azure services
  • Basic coding knowledge in Python, C#, HTML5, or JavaScript
  • Experience working with APIs (including OAuth)
