Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a detail-oriented Cosmetic Merchandiser to join the Garden Route Mall store in George. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and maintaining merchandising standards while ensuring excellent customer service and optimal product availability.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Up to 6 months’ retail experience
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- At least 1 year retail experience
Key Responsibilities
- Replenish stock to ensure maximum product availability and sales
- Ensure all delivered stock or stock retrieved from the storeroom is packed and stored correctly without delay
- Monitor stock to ensure items are within sell-by dates
- Maintain full product ranges on shelves at all times
- Rotate stock regularly using FIFO principles
- Report low, damaged, expired, or out-of-stock items to management
- Assist with stock counts and general stocktaking duties
- Follow store layout guidelines and planograms
- Flatten boxes after unpacking and move them to designated areas
- Ensure shelves are neat, well-presented, and correctly labeled with accurate pricing
- Report price discrepancies promptly
- Stay informed about new and current products
- Build, maintain, and replenish merchandising displays
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop floor and storeroom
- Assist with loading and offloading of stock
- Ensure items without barcodes are clearly marked
- Support back shopping activities
- Assist in training new team members
- Provide friendly and professional customer assistance and product advice
- Follow up on out-of-stock queries using the appropriate processes
- Resolve customer stock-related queries effectively
- Wear the correct uniform and identification badge at all times
- Minimize losses by handling merchandise carefully
- Comply with company policies, procedures, SOPs, and health and safety regulations
