Fashion Designer – Truworths Careers

Truworths is seeking a talented Fashion Designer to join our in-house Fashion Studio, the creative hub behind the success of our Ladieswear, Menswear, and Kidswear collections. This role is perfect for a designer with a keen fashion eye, able to translate global trends into unique, market-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze global fashion trends sourced from trend institutes, international fashion fairs, and insights from major fashion capitals.
• Translate trends into innovative colour, fabric, style, and trim concepts for each Truworths brand.
• Inspire and collaborate with Buyers, Planners, and Merchandise teams to develop diverse garment ranges.
• Ensure limited quantities of each item to maintain exclusivity while delivering commercially viable collections.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ design experience in fashion retail or creative manufacturing.
• Alternatively, proven experience as a Fashion Buyer with strong design application skills is advantageous.
• Ability to bridge design and buying functions is highly valued.

Competencies

• Strong design skills with proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, and CAD.
• Solid product knowledge and understanding of fashion trends.
• Creative, innovative, and able to inspire cross-functional teams.
