Job Role

The New Business Consultant is a growth-focused, commercially driven role responsible for expanding partnerships across retail and fintech channels. This role suits a motivated self-starter with experience selling digital value-added services into both formal and informal retail environments.

You will identify and secure new business opportunities, manage key client relationships, and work closely with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet client and market needs.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting and Lead Generation:

  • Identify, research, and target new clients within defined markets.

  • Generate leads through cold calling, networking, social platforms, and other prospecting methods.

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline using CRM systems.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Initiate and maintain contact with prospective clients through meetings, calls, and emails.

  • Build trusted relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders.

  • Conduct needs analyses to understand client challenges and business objectives.

Sales Presentations and Solutions:

  • Prepare and deliver tailored sales presentations and proposals.

  • Clearly articulate the value and benefits of digital and value-added solutions.

  • Confidently handle objections and client queries to move opportunities forward.

Negotiation and Deal Closure:

  • Develop pricing models and contract terms aligned with company guidelines.

  • Negotiate agreements that deliver value for both the client and the business.

  • Successfully close deals and ensure timely contract finalisation.

Market Research and Insights:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions.

  • Analyse data to uncover new growth opportunities and strategies.

  • Share insights with marketing and product teams to support innovation.

Sales Reporting and Performance Tracking:

  • Track sales activities, pipeline progress, and results.

  • Produce accurate sales forecasts and performance reports.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of all client interactions in the CRM system.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Work closely with recruitment, delivery, and operational teams to ensure seamless onboarding.

  • Communicate client requirements and expectations clearly across teams.

  • Align sales initiatives with marketing campaigns and events.

Target Achievement:

  • Set and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

  • Continuously assess personal performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales or business development

  • Proven ability to generate new business and consistently achieve sales targets

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel when required

  • Experience in the payments or retail industry will be advantageous

Competencies and Attributes

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in CRM systems and sales tools

  • Solid understanding of sales principles and techniques

  • Ability to conduct market research and identify viable leads

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
