Job Description
The Installation Assistant Technician supports the Installations Technician in the installation of alarm and security systems, ensuring accurate setup, cabling, and testing of equipment. This role involves hands-on assistance with alarm systems, intercoms, CCTV, and access control installations while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Qualification & Experience:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience as a Wireman
• Practical electrical/electronic knowledge advantageous
• PSIRA registration (Grade C) advantageous
• Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail

Main Purpose of the Job:

• Assist the Installations Technician with installing alarm system cabling, drilling, and connecting detectors and panels
• Power-up and walk-test systems as required
• Independently install cabling for alarm systems, intercom, CCTV, and access control systems according to company standards

Duties:

• Assist with installation of alarm and security equipment
• Remove old equipment from client premises as required
• Run new cables, drill holes, apply glue, and mount detectors, panels, contacts, and lights
• Report any equipment or tool limitations to the technician
• Inform the technician of cabling requirements for installations
• Support user setup and system handover to clients
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and client premises after installations
