Role Overview
The Pre-Sales Engineer plays a critical role in delivering tailored security technology solutions by partnering closely with sales and project teams. This position focuses on understanding client requirements, designing integrated security solutions, and providing technical expertise throughout the sales lifecycle to ensure customer needs are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Consultation

Engage with prospective clients alongside sales teams to assess security requirements

Translate customer needs into effective, compliant security solutions
Solution Design

Design and propose integrated security solutions including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, and related technologies

Develop professional solution designs using design tools, PowerPoint, Google Earth, and other relevant software
Product Demonstrations

Conduct live and virtual demonstrations, including proof-of-concept presentations, to showcase solution capabilities
Pre-Sales Technical Support

Provide technical input for proposals, system designs, documentation, and solution sign-off
-
Respond to technical queries from customers and internal stakeholders
Site Assessments

Perform site surveys and assessments to determine optimal system design based on environment, risk, and compliance requirements
Proposal and Tender Support

Assist in developing detailed proposals including technical specifications, pricing inputs, and implementation timelines
-
Support RFP and RFI responses, ensuring all technical elements are accurately addressed
Collaboration and Handover

Work closely with sales, project management, and support teams to ensure seamless transition from pre-sales to implementation
Market and Technology Awareness

Stay current with emerging security technologies, trends, and product advancements to enhance solution offerings
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
-
Post-matric qualification or equivalent
-
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or technical consulting role within the security industry
-
In-depth knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, alarm systems, and network security
-
Practical experience with networking, video management systems, server design, and video storage calculations
-
Experience with security vendors such as Hikvision, Axis, Bosch, Gallagher, Milestone, and Impro
Technical and Professional Requirements

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and design software
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Professional appearance and conduct at all times
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
-
Willingness to travel as required

Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
-
PSIRA registration, Grade C
