Job Objectives
The Wellness Assistant is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service through strong in-store presence and a proactive approach to customer needs. This role focuses on providing expert advice on health, wellness, and supplement products while driving sales and maintaining high merchandising and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selection and offering informed health and supplement advice
- Consult with customers to recommend suitable healthcare, nutrition, and wellness products
- Drive sales by promoting a wide range of products through effective cross-selling and upselling techniques
- Ensure optimal stock availability in healthcare aisles by following stock management procedures
- Minimize product wastage through adherence to stock rotation principles
- Prevent stock losses by complying with all risk management policies and procedures
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness to create an inviting shopping environment
- Support merchandising activities by implementing store guidelines and display standards
- Follow all standard operating procedures to ensure consistent store operations
- Continuously improve product knowledge and share insights with team members to ensure service continuity
Minimum Requirements
Job Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of health, fitness, and supplement products
- Understanding of retail store operations, including stock management, merchandising, and risk control
Job-Related Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-focused approach with a passion for service excellence
- Proven selling and product recommendation skills
- Merchandising and display management abilities
- Basic computer literacy is advantageous
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year relevant retail experience
- Experience working with sports nutrition, vitamins, and related wellness products
- Background in sales and customer service training
Education
- Matric qualification
- Minimum of 50% in English
- Pass in Life Sciences or Physics
- A qualification in sports, fitness, or nutrition is advantageous
