Sales Representative – Value Logistics
Purpose of the Role
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value Logistics services, with a primary focus on Value Truck Rental and the cross-selling of complementary solutions including Logistics, Linehaul, Equipment, Fridge Fleet, Freightpak, Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Moving Billboards, and Express services.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development

Gather and analyse client transport, distribution, and expenditure information

Evaluate potential customer spend and apply relevant focus factors

Maintain strong knowledge of competitors within the assigned area

Build trusted, long-term customer relationships
-
Identify customer service needs and provide accurate quotations for suitable Value services
-
Grow the existing customer base through effective cross-selling of Value service offerings
-
Close sales opportunities and secure new business
-
Target and manage national accounts
-
Maintain a clear understanding of client contracts and service agreements
-
Ensure services provided remain aligned with evolving customer requirements
Customer Engagement & Service Excellence

Develop a strong understanding of customer businesses to drive growth opportunities

Add value to every customer interaction with clear objectives for each visit

Maintain high-frequency contact with key business influencers

Ensure Value service levels are delivered in line with Standard Operating Procedures
-
Keep product and service knowledge current at all times
-
Identify client challenges and resolve queries timeously, including invoices, claims, and PODs
-
Maintain a professional image and represent the company positively
Reporting & Performance Management

Submit all sales and activity reports accurately and within required timelines
-
Meet or exceed budgets, sales targets, and performance goals set by management
-
Contribute positively to team objectives and expectations

Comply with all company policies, procedures, and governance standards
Additional Responsibilities

Perform additional reasonable tasks as requested by management, aligned with organisational objectives
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Experience in a sales environment
-
Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
