CCTV and Alarm Technician – Fidelity Vacancies

Reports To: Technical Manager

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an alarm technician
• Extensive experience in programming, wiring, installations, and fault finding

Job Requirements & Attributes

• Valid driver’s license essential
• PSIRA Grade C registered
• Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Telecom systems
• Knowledge of CCTV, intercom systems, and access control advantageous
• Willingness to work on standby as required

Technical Duties

• Perform alarm installations according to quotations
• Program alarm panels/systems to specifications
• Provide on-site quotes for additional equipment if required
• Plan cable runs with the wireman
• Obtain customer codes before attending calls and during standby
• Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards for every installation
• Provide timely feedback to Manager, Supervisor, and Call Centre

Technical Performance Standards

• Ensure installations match Sales Rep quotations
• Program alarms according to FADT standards
• Verify correct details are quoted
• Adhere to SHE requirements at all times
• Confirm accurate customer details before attending calls
• Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards accurately
• Provide timely feedback to all relevant parties

General Duties

• Download cites each morning
• Keep stock updated and assist storeman with stock take
• Maintain company vehicle cleanliness
• Submit petrol slips

General Performance Standards

• Maintain accurate stock at all times and report discrepancies
• Ensure company vehicle is clean
• Submit petrol slips weekly
