Essential
• Sound knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUDs, pharmacology, EPI and cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counselling, breastfeeding support, pathology, and wound care
• Commitment to quarterly CPD and ongoing in-service training
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong understanding of financial performance and monthly clinic targets
• Analytical ability to interpret clinic statistics and commission data
• High emotional intelligence, integrity, and professional accountability
• Strong leadership, self-management, and motivational skills
• Excellent time management and organisational ability
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive Clinic Nurse Practitioner services in line with healthcare regulations and professional standards
• Manage clinic performance and patient flow to achieve operational targets
• Ensure consistent availability of all clinic services
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely follow-ups
• Ensure the clinic operates according to approved trading hours
• Process medical aid claims accurately and within required timeframes
• Maintain clinic stock levels and ensure all equipment is functional and compliant
• Ensure adequate availability of clinical consumables and medicines
• Build and sustain professional relationships with patients, store and dispensary management, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, community healthcare stakeholders, and healthcare partners
Minimum Requirements
Advantageous
• 5+ years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Nurse Practitioner
• Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra
Essential
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Registered as a Clinic Nurse Practitioner with BHF
• 2–3 years’ experience practicing in a Primary Health Care clinic
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
