Clinic Nurse Practitioner – Dischem Vacancies

About the Role
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within the pharmacy in Brackenfell. The role requires practicing within the scope of a registered nursing practitioner while ensuring high-quality patient care and clinic operations.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree or Diploma in Midwifery
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Nursing practitioner must obtain BHF registration
• 2–3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Advantageous:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Primary Health Care
• Familiarity with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra

Key Responsibilities

Clinic Operations:

• Perform duties according to industry regulations and best practices
• Set clinic objectives to optimize patient flow and clinic performance
• Ensure all clinic services are available and operational
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure follow-up communication
• Keep the clinic open and operational during designated hours
• Process claims accurately and on time
• Maintain clinic stock and equipment in working order and sufficient supply

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and key community healthcare players

Competencies:

Essential:

• Knowledge of community health, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD insertion, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre- and post-counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
• Participation in quarterly CPD and in-service training with Dis-Chem
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Understanding of financial targets and implications
• Analytical skills to review monthly clinic statistics and commissions
• Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial flair, honesty, and trustworthiness
• Ability to manage self and team; self-motivated and proactive
• Effective time management

Advantageous:

• Bilingual skills
• Knowledge of business objectives
• Additional courses: Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, Disease Management

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
• South African citizen
