About the Program
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Delivery Drivers and Assistants to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries according to schedule.
- Support distribution operations including HHC usage, license renewals, PDP compliance, and vehicle servicing.
- Optimize secondary distribution performance through efficient routing and scheduling of vehicles.
- Oversee end-to-end distribution center operations: loading, customer deliveries, post-delivery debriefs, invoicing, credit notes, and claims processing.
- Monitor KPIs, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain performance standards.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and functionality of all work equipment.
- Maintain safe working conditions and adherence to EHS standards.
- Manage Stratopod delivery, system security, and data accuracy.
- Support plant, distribution, supply chain, and shipping cost management initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure accurate execution of Key Account delivery plans and control PODs daily.
- Track and analyze delivery data, manage pallets, overtime, and absenteeism.
- Enforce warehouse procedures and maintain a positive industrial relations climate.
- Implement performance management, training, and disciplinary actions as required.
- Maintain high service levels: 95% fill rate, 95% on-time delivery, and proactive customer communication.
- Manage stock rotation, inventory accuracy (95% IRA), and ensure quality, hygiene, and food safety compliance.
- Oversee non-conforming quality issues, ensuring escalation and resolution.
- Develop and maintain effective SOPs, SLAs, routines, and review mechanisms.
- Control warehouse assets, minimize outstanding PODs/CNs, and deliver on productivity targets.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
- Relevant tertiary qualification or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an FMCG distribution environment.
- Strong people management and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Results-driven with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in distribution operations.
