Forecourt Sales Representative – Value Logistics
Purpose of the Role
The Forecourt Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth within petrol station forecourts and convenience retail outlets. This role requires a strong understanding of forecourt operations, effective relationship management, and the ability to perform in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with frequent stock turnover.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Account Development
• Develop and expand customer accounts within the forecourt and convenience retail segment, focusing on beverage and snack categories
• Manage and promote private label products to increase market share
• Drive sales performance by identifying growth opportunities within existing and new accounts
Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with site managers and forecourt staff
• Provide frequent and reliable service to ensure consistent product availability and visibility
• Support customers with product knowledge, merchandising, and sales initiatives
Stock and Merchandising Management
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment to prevent stock shortages
• Ensure merchandising standards are maintained across all forecourt locations
• Track performance of key SKUs, especially fast-moving items, and recommend improvements to product assortment
Promotions and Execution
• Manage promotional campaigns by implementing promotion catalogues and driving sales in line with promotional activities
• Ensure effective execution of point-of-sale materials and displays
Operations and Reporting
• Execute daily visits based on route plans, prioritising forecourt locations and adhering to delivery deadlines
• Assist with credit control processes and reconcile on-site transactions and payments
• Analyse consumer buying behaviour and provide insights to improve sales strategies
• Compile and present detailed reports on forecourt channel performance and activities
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• 5–10 years’ sales experience, with at least 3 years in forecourt or convenience retail sales
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets over the past 12 months

• Strong understanding of sales processes with a willingness to learn and adapt
• Confidence and a proactive approach in a fast-paced sales environment
