About the Role:
As a Reinsurance Accountant specializing in Investments, you will be responsible for managing reinsurance recoveries, premium reconciliations, and claims settlements across diverse portfolios. Your role ensures compliance with treaty terms and financial regulations while providing key financial insights to actuarial, underwriting, and investment teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and process reinsurance recoveries, claims settlements, and premium reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with reinsurance treaty terms and regulatory requirements.
- Support investment teams with financial analysis and reporting.
- Maintain accurate ledger records and perform regular financial reconciliations.
- Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to provide timely financial data.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- BCom in Accounting or Finance (CIMA and SAIPA certifications advantageous).
- 3+ years experience in reinsurance or technical accounting within investment finance.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance treaties, premium allocations, and claims accounting.
- Experience with investment-linked insurance products or structured reinsurance arrangements.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific tools.
- Excellent reconciliations, ledger management, and reporting abilities.
