Logistics Controller – Tiger Brands Vacancies
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Operations

Supervise and coordinate vehicle loading to meet delivery schedules

Review the Open Orders Book daily and liaise with LCT Planner to confirm stock for the next day

Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) principles are followed to prevent write-offs in the warehouse

Ensure that customers collecting stock adhere to Collection SOPs
Inbound Operations
-
Inspect all inbound stock for visible damage, expiry dates, and product condition
-
Ensure accurate goods receipt of all stock within three working days in Oracle
-
Run and clear in-transit reports in a timely manner
Expense and Vendor Management
-
Manage departmental expenses to remain within budget
-
Oversee outsourced 3PL service providers
-
Ensure timely processing of POs and receipting
-
Manage overtime and staff effectively
Inventory Management
-
Maintain stock accuracy at 99.5%
-
Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly stocktaking according to SOPs
-
Ensure timely recording of stock movements to damages to avoid stock loss
-
Enforce FIFO principles and perform daily stock reconciliations
Compliance and Training
-
Ensure adherence to Food Safety and Hygiene programs
-
Comply with all safety rules, regulations, and legal requirements

Develop and train distribution department employees, ensuring training is budgeted and executed
Qualifications and Competencies
-
Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related qualification
-
Computer literate with strong numerical and analytical skills
-
Knowledge of Supply Chain KPIs, logistics administration, operational requirements, and HACCP/Food Safety standards
-
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
-
Leadership skills: influencing others, managing change, developing self and others, driving long-term results
-
Personal effectiveness: integrity, attention to detail, creativity, continuous learning, interpersonal skills
Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse stock management, or distribution operations with exposure to retail and wholesale customer service
-
Experience in FMCG food manufacturing environments preferred
