Purpose of the Job
The Back Door Specialist is responsible for visiting assigned stores and distribution centres to ensure smooth operations and minimise operational failures. This role focuses on building, managing, and maintaining strong relationships with back doors, stores, distribution centres, and operational teams, while managing and resolving issues between the back door and value operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with back door teams.
- Conduct visits to each assigned back door at least once a month.
- Understand processes at each back door, including receipt, dispatch, and returns, to ensure compliance and efficient stock handling.
- Maintain and update back door and distribution centre requirements monthly.
- Support back door teams by addressing issues and coordinating with value operations for resolution.
- Ensure actions are completed within set deadlines.
- Monitor, improve, and increase turnaround times at back doors.
- Manage smooth processing of bookings and escalate potential delays in offloading value vehicles.
- Drive the implementation and use of technology to improve procedures and enhance efficiency at back doors.
- Manage procedures to minimise returns.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Logistics, warehouse, or related degree is advantageous
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail and distribution centre back door audits and resolving delayed offloading issues
- Own transport
