Butchery Supervisor

Job Description

Key Performance Areas

• Oversee butchery operations to meet targets and ensure profitability.
• Set optimal stock levels for each product category.
• Maintain the correct product range and ensure availability at the right times.
• Ensure key value items (KVI’s) are always in stock.
• Accurately record stock transfers and spot-check price tickets for accuracy, neatness, and compliance.
• Conduct price surveys to maintain competitive pricing on key products.
• Ensure correct packaging is used for all products.
• Supervise and maintain hygiene standards within the department.
• Ensure adherence to company systems, policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Manage customer orders, inquiries, and complaints efficiently.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric certificate.
• A retail or business management qualification is advantageous.
• 1–3 years of experience in butchery supervision.
• Assertive with excellent decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with staff and customers.
• High level of integrity.
• Good numerical skills.

Inherent Job Requirements

• Willingness to work irregular hours based on operational needs.
• Valid South African driver’s license.
• Own reliable transport.
• Preparedness to relocate if required.
