Job Description

We are hiring a Senior Engineer – Marine Structural to lead the design and evaluation of coastal and offshore structures, including wharves, jetties, breakwaters, floating structures, and caissons. This role involves structural analysis under demanding marine conditions—wave, current, berthing, and seismic forces—as well as close collaboration with geotechnical, coastal, and marine engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural design for marine infrastructure using recognized codes (e.g., BS, Eurocode, API, PIANC).
  • Conduct static and dynamic structural analysis, including wave and berthing impact assessments.
  • Assess corrosion protection, fatigue performance, and detailing for marine environments.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical teams on foundation design (piles, caissons, gravity-based structures).
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Support tendering processes, fabrication reviews, and construction-phase technical queries.
  • Develop and enforce quality assurance protocols for marine structural designs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on complex marine projects.
  • Collaborate with environmental specialists to integrate sustainability into designs.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for marine structures.
  • Engage with clients to present technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging marine engineering technologies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in marine structural engineering.
  • Professional registration with ECSA as Pr.Eng. for at least 3 years.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural), with preference for M.Eng or MSc.Eng.
