About the Role
Pick n Pay Careers is seeking a driven and experienced Manager Bakery to lead and optimise the performance of the bakery department. This role focuses on delivering high-quality products, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring in-store execution aligns with business strategy, standards, and customer expectations.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 and/or NQF Level 3 Bakery qualification
- Proven experience as a Bakery Supervisor or Bakery Manager, or at least 6 months in a relief management role
- Solid bakery production and retail experience

Key Responsibilities
Planning and Execution
- Implement in-store bakery execution in line with business strategy, guidelines, and operational standards
- Plan production to meet customer demand while optimising efficiency and minimising waste
Store Standards and Compliance
- Set, monitor, and maintain high bakery standards across all operations
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are consistently followed
- Maintain compliance with safety, hygiene, and food quality standards
Administration
- Manage all bakery-related administration including staff scheduling, leave management, invoicing, and compliance documentation
- Ensure all administrative processes are completed accurately and on time
Merchandising and Sales
- Ensure merchandising standards and promotional activities are executed according to company guidelines
- Maintain visually appealing displays to drive sales and enhance customer experience
Customer Focus
- Identify customer needs and preferences, adjusting product offerings accordingly
- Deliver excellent service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop bakery staff to achieve operational and sales targets
- Ensure adherence to safety, merchandising, customer service, and security standards
- Build a motivated and high-performing team culture
