Network Recruitment is proud to represent a prestigious financial regulatory authority in search of a Manager – Market Risk to oversee a team of specialists focusing on insurance, financial market infrastructures (FMIs), and cross-sectoral financial institutions. This is a unique leadership opportunity at the intersection of policy, supervision, and innovation, where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding South Africa’s financial stability.
What You’ll Be Driving:
- Leading and managing market and counterparty credit risk supervision across key financial sectors
- Developing and refining regulatory frameworks, supervisory tools, and risk models
- Collaborating with supervisory teams, policy units, and external stakeholders
- Driving strategic initiatives on margin requirements, financial derivatives, and investment risk analysis
- Mentoring and developing a high-performance team of market risk specialists
What You Bring:
- A postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Insurance, or a related field (NQF Level 8+)
- 8–10 years of experience in financial services or regulation, specializing in market risk, investment risk, or counterparty credit risk
- At least 2 years of experience managing technical teams
- Deep expertise in insurance and FMI regulation, derivatives, risk modeling, and supervision frameworks (e.g., SAM, IOSCO, IAIS, FMA)
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Bonus Points If You Have:
- FRM, CFA, CQF, or MBA qualification
- Experience in model validation, market risk analytics, and quantitative supervision tools
- Proven success in regulatory innovation and stakeholder management
