About the Program
Job Description
- Provide input into the annual budget and manage costs by negotiating with suppliers for optimal rates.
- Monitor and renegotiate service provider contracts when services are added or removed.
- Oversee initial IATA airport slot submissions and ensure schedule alignment.
- Maintain current navigation platforms and provide input for optimization.
- Stay up to date with travel policies and cross-border destination requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Post Flight Documentation and Jumpseat booking procedures.
- Manage interdepartmental communications regarding schedule, navigation, and 90-day retention documentation.
- Monitor continuous improvement and compliance in airport slot management.
- Participate in briefings on contract flying to ensure contractual compliance.
- Manage and compile fuel projections through analysis of fuel usage.
- Maintain airport slot compliance and manage audits related to 90-day retention documentation.
- Review and ensure compliance with work instructions and manuals; update manuals annually.
- Provide monthly reports to the Senior Manager, Operations, on functional performance indicators, fuel usage, and team performance.
- Oversee and guide the team, setting goals, motivating, and promoting teamwork to ensure productivity.
- Identify skill development areas for succession planning and encourage effective communication among team members.
- Oversee complex projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and timely completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CAMU, Airport Authority, Regulators, and Service Providers to influence operational decisions.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent; qualification in Flight Operational Management advantageous.
- Minimum 10 years aviation experience, including 5 years in a management role.
- Experience in:
- Aircraft Performance and Navigation
- IATA Slot Management
- Fuel Management and Monitoring
- Operations Support (90-day retention documents)
- IOSA and SACAA audit requirements and engagements
- Flexibility to work non-office hours, weekends, or extended hours as required.
- Thorough knowledge of IATA Slots, SACAA 90-day documentation retention, aircraft performance and navigation, company travel policies, and management principles.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software.
