Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Digital Solutions Software Tester II to join our team in Cape Town, Durban, or Johannesburg, South Africa, on a hybrid work schedule. This role is critical in ensuring the quality of internal and client-facing applications, including geospatial solutions for desktop, web, AWS, and production systems. The ideal candidate will gain exposure to water resources engineering and flood mitigation concepts while collaborating with a high-performing R&D team.
This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects that help clients deliver essential services, enhance communities, and promote sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual testing for desktop and web-based digital solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and execute test scenarios to validate software functionality.
- Identify and resolve issues in collaboration with development teams.
- Ensure solutions meet quality, performance, usability, and supportability standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of software testing experience or equivalent education.
- Hands-on experience in manual testing for desktop/web applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
- Exposure to ESRI or open-source GIS technologies.
- Basic understanding of DevOps principles.
- Proficiency with SQL Server or other relational databases.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for identifying and resolving defects.
- Interest in GIS technology applications.
