Role Overview:
The New Business Consultant is responsible for driving growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across retail and fintech channels. This role suits a commercially minded professional with experience in selling digital value-added services within both formal and informal retail markets.
You will play a key role in expanding the digital channel, managing strategic accounts, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs.
Responsibilities:
Prospecting and Lead Generation:
- Identify and research potential clients within targeted markets.
- Generate new business leads through cold calling, networking, and digital platforms.
- Maintain and update a structured pipeline of prospects using CRM systems.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Initiate and manage communication with prospective clients via meetings, calls, and emails.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Conduct needs assessments to understand client objectives and challenges.
Sales Presentations and Solutions Delivery:
- Develop and present tailored sales proposals and presentations.
- Clearly communicate the value of products and services.
- Address objections and provide effective solutions to move opportunities forward.
Negotiation and Closing:
- Prepare pricing structures and contract terms aligned with company policies.
- Negotiate agreements to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Close deals and ensure timely finalization of contracts.
Market Research and Insights:
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions.
- Identify new opportunities through data analysis and research.
- Provide actionable insights to marketing and product development teams.
Sales Reporting and Administration:
- Track sales performance, pipeline progress, and key metrics.
- Prepare accurate forecasts and performance reports.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date records within CRM systems.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Communicate client requirements and expectations effectively.
- Align with marketing initiatives to support campaigns and events.
Performance Management:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Continuously assess performance and implement improvement strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales or business development.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel when required.
- Experience in the payments or retail industry is advantageous.
