Job Description
Fidelity Vacancies is seeking a skilled Technician (Installations, Service) to handle the installation, servicing, and maintenance of electronic security systems at commercial and industrial sites. The role involves working with a variety of systems including alarms, CCTV, access control, fire systems, and network infrastructure, ensuring high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
Overall Purpose of the Role
To install, configure, and maintain electronic security equipment, including wiring, commissioning, and troubleshooting, while adhering to industry standards and company procedures.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electronic Security Technician
- Proven experience in programming, wiring, installations, and fault-finding
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license
- PSIRA registration (Grades E, D, or C)
Key Responsibilities
- Install and program a range of alarm systems including Ajax, Paradox, Texecom, Caddx, IDS, DSC, Rhino, and Risco
- Install and maintain electric fencing systems
- Configure and maintain smart CCTV systems, including advanced features such as facial recognition and surveillance monitoring
- Integrate alarm, CCTV, and electric fencing systems
- Setup and maintain wireless, fibre, and copper network infrastructure
- Install basic electrical systems including DB boards, inverters, UPS systems, and generators
- Support project design and oversee large-scale installations
- Provide IT and network support where required
- Install and maintain access control systems including biometric, UHF, and card-based solutions
Main Duties
- Program systems according to specifications and client requirements
- Plan and coordinate cable installations with wiremen
- Obtain customer access codes prior to service or installation visits
- Conduct system handovers and provide user guidance
- Complete job cards and documentation after each task
- Provide feedback to management and call centre upon job completion
- Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock takes
- Ensure company vehicle is clean and well-maintained
- Submit fuel slips and related administrative documentation
