About the Program:
Job Purpose:
To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the dispensary and clinic while delivering service excellence. The Pharmacy Manager leads and directs the pharmacy team to provide high standards of pharmaceutical care, achieving sales, compliance, and operational targets that strengthen the brand’s competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high standards of pharmaceutical care, including accurate and safe dispensing, generic substitution, and professional advice in line with Clicks’ procedures, good pharmacy practice, and the legal scope defined by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Manage all operational activities of the dispensary, including stock control, shrinkage prevention, housekeeping, and administration in compliance with SAPC regulations and company standards.
- Ensure financial viability of the dispensary by monitoring core targets, managing expenses, and taking proactive measures to maintain operational efficiency.
- Lead, develop, and motivate employees, including learners and interns, through effective selection, coaching, and ongoing development to meet current and future business needs.
- Schedule staff according to labour policies and ensure accurate time and attendance records are submitted to HR.
- Implement customer service initiatives that enhance the customer experience, drive loyalty, and meet club card participation targets.
- Foster integration and collaboration with the clinic and healthcare aisle to provide a comprehensive healthcare offering to customers.
- Support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first-choice health and beauty retailer by exemplifying and promoting company values.
- Drive cohesion and integration between store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams.
- Cultivate a high-performing business culture that delivers employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Registered Pharmacist with SAPC
- Minimum 2 years’ post-community service experience
- Minimum 1 year people management experience
- SAPC registration as Responsible Pharmacist
- Retail pharmacy experience (desirable)
- Unisolv system experience (desirable)
