Tyre Coordinator – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Role
• Responsible for routine tyre maintenance, breakdown support, tyre surveys, and stock control across the fleet
• Travel to various operational sites to ensure optimal tyre performance and safety compliance
• Ensure accurate reporting within the tyre management system

Key Responsibilities

Tyre Surveys
• Travel to operational sites as required
• Prioritise tyre surveys and maintenance based on fleet lists from the Supervisor
• Conduct tyre surveys according to schedule
• Capture accurate data using the Intasect Tyre Management System or manual records when necessary
• Record brand numbers, wheel positions, tyre pressure, and tread depth
• Ensure all fleet vehicles and spare wheels are surveyed monthly
• Adjust tyre pressures where required
• Report missing spare wheels to the Supervisor
• Mark spare wheel rims for identification
• Ensure wheel nuts are correctly torqued and fitted with indicators
• Install missing wheel nut indicators
• Photograph scrap tyres and submit images to the Supervisor
• Provide daily feedback on completed surveys, tyre issues, and productivity
• Meet daily tyre survey targets set by management

Stock Control
• Ensure tyre stock is always locked and secured
• Assist with investigation and reporting of stock discrepancies
• Support monthly cycle counts

Tyre Branding
• Identify tyres without brand numbers
• Report findings to the Supervisor
• Apply tyre branding according to approved standards

Tyre Replacement
• Identify and replace worn, damaged, or punctured tyres
• Follow company procedures and policies
• Complete tyre change slips accurately and on time
• Submit tyre change slips daily

Tyre Rotations
• Perform tyre rotations according to tread matching guidelines
• Complete and submit tyre change documentation daily

Breakdown Support
• Prepare breakdown vehicle with correct tyres before dispatch
• Respond quickly to tyre-related breakdowns
• Handle breakdowns in line with road regulations and company policies
• Complete breakdown reports and tyre change slips
• Return damaged tyres to the depot
• Submit all required documentation to the Supervisor

Company Equipment and Assets
• Ensure handheld devices are safely stored when not in use
• Complete daily vehicle checklists and submit to the Supervisor
• Ensure vehicles are parked and locked when not in use
• Hand over vehicle keys after each shift
• Report vehicle damages or accidents immediately
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in working condition
• Submit weekly tool inspection checklists
• Report defective tools promptly

Housekeeping
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
• Keep company vehicles clean at all times

Health and Safety
• Prioritise health and safety of all colleagues
• Report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately
• Comply with all health and safety regulations
• Ensure proper use of PPE at all times

General Responsibilities
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Follow SOPs, HR policies, POPIA, dress code, and attendance rules
• Support additional operational requirements when needed
• Be available for occasional weekend work

Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Valid Code B Driver’s License
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in heavy-duty tyre maintenance

• Effective stock control skills
• Strong planning and time management
• Ability to identify risks and hazards
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong organisational and time management skills
