About the Role
As Manager: Digital Solutions at FlySafair, you will lead the delivery of robust, scalable, and optimised enterprise systems that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and support digital transformation. You will be responsible for overseeing system integrations, automation initiatives, and digital innovation while ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

You will define and prioritise strategic roadmaps, manage projects from initiation to delivery, and ensure system stability, compliance, and continuity through proactive risk management. By leveraging data, performance metrics, and analytics, you will guide continuous improvement and ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.

This role also involves leading a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and problem-solving, while collaborating with internal stakeholders, vendors, and partners to deliver sustainable and scalable digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver scalable and optimised enterprise systems to support business growth and innovation.
  • Drive system optimisation, integrations, automation, and digital initiatives.
  • Plan and prioritise roadmaps aligned with organisational needs.
  • Oversee project management to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Manage risks to ensure system stability, compliance, and business continuity.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain system reliability.
  • Provide management reporting on progress, performance, and risks.
  • Manage budgets, invoices, and financial resources effectively.
  • Embed scalability into systems and integrations for future growth.
  • Measure outcomes and ROI to ensure value from technology investments.
  • Monitor system performance, incidents, upgrades, and releases.
  • Use data analytics to drive system improvements and optimisation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, promoting innovation and accountability.
  • Encourage continuous learning and adoption of new technologies.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to align systems with business priorities.
  • Oversee vendor contracts, licences, and service-level agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and governance frameworks.
  • Manage system security, resilience, and operational risks.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, documentation, and best practices.
  • Ensure proper version control and documentation for system sustainability.
  • Drive effective change management to support system adoption.
  • Align system delivery with user readiness, training, and support.
  • Champion innovation in automation and enterprise architecture.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and sustainable technology practices.
  • Build cross-functional collaboration and support organisational growth.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (essential).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (essential).
  • Postgraduate qualification in a related field (advantageous).
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT, including at least 3 years in a managerial role (essential).
  • Proven experience in systems architecture, integration, and automation (essential).
  • Aviation industry experience (advantageous).
