Job Description
Fidelity Vacancies is looking for a dedicated Alarm & CCTV Assistant Technician to support installation teams with security system deployments. This role involves assisting with the installation of alarm systems, CCTV, intercoms, and access control solutions while ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with company standards.
Job Requirements & Attributes
- PSIRA registered (Grade C)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- At least 1 year of experience as a Wireman
- Practical electrical or electronic knowledge is advantageous
Main Purpose of the Job
To assist the Installations Technician with the installation of Alarm & CCTV systems, including cabling, drilling, and connecting system components. The role requires the ability to install and connect detectors, panels, and related equipment, as well as power up and test systems to ensure proper functionality. The Assistant Technician should also be capable of handling installations independently in line with company standards.
Key Duties
- Assist technicians with the installation of alarm and security systems
- Remove and replace existing equipment at client premises
- Run cables, drill holes, mount detectors, panels, contacts, and related components
- Support installations of CCTV, intercom, and access control systems
- Report any equipment or tool limitations to the technician
- Identify and communicate cabling requirements for installations
- Assist with system setup, user guidance, and handover to clients
- Ensure vehicles and work areas are cleaned after installations
