About the Role
The QA Auditor is responsible for conducting quality audits, inspections, and investigations to ensure compliance with FlySafair’s Quality Assurance System and aviation regulatory standards. This role identifies risks and gaps, monitors corrective actions, and supports continuous improvement across operational and technical departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audits, inspections, and investigations in line with the Quality Assurance System
- Identify, record, and substantiate findings, ensuring proper evidence is documented
- Review corrective action plans and ensure root cause analyses address findings thoroughly
- Verify timely implementation of corrective actions and recommend solutions for risks or findings
- Maintain the IQSMS Quality Module
- Liaise and accompany SACAA and third-party auditors during audits and inspections (AOC, AMO, DG, ATO, Simulator, etc.)
- Review process owner manuals and identify gaps in departmental quality control processes
- Disseminate quality-related information to Operational, Training, and Maintenance personnel
- Assist with new route application coordination
- Authorise and issue company authorisations for the Technical Department
- Attend relevant meetings, including Quality Assurance sessions
- Execute ad-hoc duties assigned by the Quality Manager
- Stay updated on industry changes, regulations, and best practices
- Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly QA activity reports
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)
- Quality Auditor and Lead Auditor certifications, including Root Cause Analysis (essential)
- Degree or Diploma in Quality Management (advantageous)
- Safety Management Systems training (advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience auditing and implementing a Quality Management System in aviation, covering scopes such as ORG, FLT, MNT, SEC, DSP, CAB, GRH, CGO
- IOSA Auditor experience
- Technical aviation experience (advantageous)
- Experience working on a Safety Management System
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge of aviation regulatory bodies and compliance requirements (SACAA CARs and CATs, IOSA ISARPs)
- Strong understanding of QMS principles and application to aviation standards
